Public Health Day at the State Capitol
Posted 02/02/24On February 1, 2024, members of Grafton-Taylor County Health Department traveled to Charleston to participate in Public Health Day at the Legislature. During their visit, they were able to meet and speak with Senator Jay Taylor about upcoming bills concerning public health as well as successes of the health department.
While the Senate Floor was in session, Boyd Vanhorn – Administrator and Annie Kennedy – County Outreach Coordinator were recognized by Senator Taylor on behalf of all the Taylor County Senators.
It was such a pleasure to be able to talk with Senator Taylor, Senator Queen, Senator Martin, and Senator Smith during our visit. We also were presented with the opportunity to meet and talk with the Taylor County Board of Education President, John Taylor.
Taylor County is a great community, and the future of our county looks bright. Coming together to talk about issues and successes at the State Capitol today is an example of the collaborative efforts in place to continue to see greatness in our community. A special thank you to Senator Jay Taylor for taking the time to meet with us and setting up the day to meet and talk with other Senators. Also, thank you to John Taylor for his time and help during our day at the West Virginia State Capitol.
